  • Archdiocese of New York Drug Abuse Prevention Program

Founded in 1972, the Archdiocese of New York Drug Abuse Prevention Program (ADAPP) offers schools and parishes within the Archdiocese of New York evidence-based substance abuse educational programs for children in grades K through 12. The goal of the program is to prevent the use and abuse of drugs and alcohol and help students make healthy choices.

Programs are constantly expanding to address diverse populations and current trends. ADAPP provides individual, group and psychosocial assessments. ADAPP’s school coaching programs include Olweus, a nationally recognized bullying prevention program, school climate assessment and training in social and emotional character development. School-wide crisis intervention and individual suicide assessment referral services are available to all schools. ADAPP staff are trained in psychological first aid and trauma response intervention.

During its 36-year history, ADAPP has been recognized on the national and state level for the quality of its services and programs.

ADAPP is a 501c-3 non-profit organization that receives funding from federal, state and local governments as well as private and corporate foundations and charitable organizations.
